I am offline for a scant few days and missing all the fun!

* [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_pole is hosting [livejournal.com profile] hbpchallenge, a low-stress HBP-based fest. Check out the prompts already left and leave some of your own.

* This week's Star Trek Rewatch is The Naked Time, hosted by [livejournal.com profile] rowena742/[personal profile] miramira, so keep your eyes peeled for that over the weekend!

* [livejournal.com profile] remixredux09 goes live on Sunday. Dear Remixer, if you are reading this, the only thing preventing me from flailing all over your story straight away is the fact that I will be in a field.

* I hear there is new Leverage! I hope that it was sparkly.

Have a good weekend, all. ♥

Many thanks to everyone who offered to help out with this. Next week, [personal profile] lorannah's going to be hosting The Man Trap, and [personal profile] miramira will be covering The Naked Time the week after.

In the meantime, allow me to hand you over to our first guest host, [personal profile] gorgeousnerd! *drumroll*

Discussion for The Enemy Within this way.

Moving house and waiting for internet to get set up - I'll catch up when I can!

Particularly, I was going to ask - Star Trek Rewatch people, would anyone be able to guest host the discussion for any of the next three weekends? The schedule is as thus:

The Enemy Within - July 3rd
The Man Trap - July 10th
The Naked Time - July 17th

It'd be completely up to you how you did it, the only requirement is putting up some kind of public discussion post on that Friday, and I'll redirect accordingly. I'd be much indebted to you!

A little late again, but in last week's Star Trek Rewatch, The Corbomite Maneuver, we had lots of discussion here. [livejournal.com profile] cho_malfoy has a reaction post here, and [personal profile] tmtrx has thoughts and icon bases here.

Next up: Mudd's Women (... oh dear)

Two vid recs!

[livejournal.com profile] sol_se made Dark Room, which is a Gwen-centric Merlin vid and thus a rare jewel to be treasured. There's some great musicality and a lot of wonderful parallels. OH GWEN. ♥!

[personal profile] thingswithwings made We Go Together, which is a multifandom watersports vid for [community profile] kink_bingo and it is playful and funny and very enjoyable, very much recommended! Also, I always like it when you see the same songs being used for vids in ways that are very different, and so it amuses me that where I made a vid about how Team Enterprise go together, [personal profile] thingswithwings made a vid about the joys of going together in a rather different sense, which I think is great.

Finally, TARDIS Big Bang is live! There are stories from all corners of the Whoverse and lots and lots of art. I have many tabs open! \o/

Although I ended up being a flunking flunker who flunks on writing big bangs this year, I did switch to doing accompanying vidding instead. Here's the story I was working with:

The Abyss Gazes Also by [livejournal.com profile] scarletsherlock
Supernatural, Torchwood, New Who, Hellboy | PG-13 | gen | 38,000 words

On a lonely night in autumn, Sam Winchester, who hunts monsters and supernatural forces with his brother, Dean, meets a strange man in a blue box. That night changes his life forever. Ten years later, Sam and Dean are dealing with the consequences of Dean's deal with Hell when Captain Jack Harkness enters their lives. He recruits them to join the mysterious Torchwood, and their partner agency, the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. At the Bureau, the boys discover the fabled Spear of Destiny, which may be their one hope to save Dean...until they travel to the Torchwood Hub, where Sam reunites with the Doctor, who he hopes can help save Dean from the forces of darkness before it's too late.

Spoilers: Doctor Who season 4 general spoilers, Supernatural S2/3 general spoilers.

You can find the vid here, which is probably most accurately described as an extended trailer.

Next up: The Corbomite Maneuver (the consensus was to continue chronologically from here on out, and I'm following Memory Alpha's ordering). If you have problems viewing the episode, let me know.

This weekend's Star Trek Rewatch episode is going to be Where No Man Has Gone Before, and the consensus is that we should continue chronologically from here on out. If you have any questions or problems finding a way to watch the episode, let me know!

The 2nd Asian Women Carnival is now up courtesy of [personal profile] oyceter, on the theme of intra/inter/transnationalities.

I look forward to getting stuck into the above and all the other things I have bookmarked when I enter that blessed state known as the summer holiday come Thursday. \o/ Oh, I have so much fic to write. Bonus: my parents, long-resigned to my terminal geekitude, have agreed to celebrate the two decade anniversary of my entrance into the world by contributing to my heart's desire: better vidding software. Final Cut Express, soon you shall be mine, my pretty, soon. And then I will probably pass from vid farr into some kind of vidding coma while I try and teach myself how to use it in time to get a vid submitted for VVC.
